Escape to Miami triathlon
Miami, Florida. September 26, 2010. Racers run out of the water toward the transition area in the 2010 Escape to Miami Triathlon. The triathlon begins with a ferry to Escape Island off of Margaret Pace Park. The 1,200 Olympic-length triathletes swam from Escape island across Biscayne Bay back to Margaret Pace Park to the transition area, where they prepared for the biking section of the race. Miami, Florida. September 26, 2010. The 6th annual Escape to Miami Triathlon sold out with 1,200 athletes competing in the Olympic-length event. The Olympic-distance triathlon consists of a .9 mile swim, 24.8 mile bike-ride and 6.2 mile run.
