Blog Post 7/25/12: Summer Heat

I want to show you some of my photos from the past month. Let’s start with some wet and wild fun: a youth swim meet, a busy pools on 100+ degree day and a slip-n-slide in a yard on a feature run.

Hunter Lautzenheiser, 11 of Hendersonville, Tennessee, jumps off the high dive at the City of Wapakoneta WaterPark. Lautzenheiser camped at the KOA with his family for the holiday. The pool has averaged 1300-1500 visitors a day throughout the week and have had above average attendance all summer. Lindsay Brown – The Lima News

I’ve been shooting tons of festivals for the Lima News. Here is a selection of photos from Ottawa’s Rythm and Rib Festival and Wapakoneta’s Summer Moon Festival.

Melissa Koenig yells as she is squirted with a water gun as her Auglaize Acres team makes the bed during the bed races at the Wapakoneta’s Summer Moon Festival. The bed race had four stages: bed making, thawing a tee shirt, “elephant march” and passing a buttered sausage. In the elephant march, one teammate put a stocking with a tennis ball in it on his/her face and knocked over bottles. Lindsay Brown/The Lima News

Finally, some clowns (not at a circus) and an elephant (at the circus).
